Shah Rukh Khan has earned the title of ‘King’ for many more reasons than just being good at his profession. Along with acting, he has managed to win hearts of people with his wit and his kind and giving nature. Yesterday, December 3, marked the International Disability Day and Shah Rukh stepped up once again by doing something incredibly special for the needful.
A report in a leading daily revealed that the actor donated a total of 50 wheelchairs for the support of para-athletes. During the interview, the actor stated, “It has been a privilege knowing and associating with Deepa for a cause as virtuous as this. She is not just an inspiration to many but also a reflection of ourselves as we all are incomplete in one way or the other, and it is for us to embrace our imperfections and achieve our goals. Felicitating these para-athletes is a step forward in achieving the dream of representing India at the Paralympics.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be playing a vertically challenged man in his next film Zero. In an earlier interview, Director Aanand L Rai had revealed that Zero will change the attitude of society towards the less fortunate and will bring in a sense of respect towards the disabled. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, and it is the trio’s second collaboration after Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012).
